Tanegashima Samurai - The Lowland Hunter
A true marksman knows that survival on the black-powder battlefield depends just as much on evasion as it does on accuracy. "The Lowland Hunter" captures a grizzled veteran executing a textbook tactical advance under heavy enemy fire. Crouching low to minimize his profile, he surges forward across the scarred earth, his eyes locked dead ahead on the enemy lines. His heavy tanegashima matchlock is gripped tightly in both hands, angled safely to prevent his priming powder from spilling as he rapidly closes the distance.
Wrapped in a thick, olive-green cowl to protect his face from flash burns and weather, this warrior is built for the gritty reality of trench warfare and ambush tactics. He isn't standing proudly in a rigid firing line; he is an aggressive skirmisher, moving through the fog of war to secure a devastating flanking position. The intense, battle-hardened glare on his weathered face tells the story of a man who has survived countless volleys by knowing exactly when to move and when to shoot.
For tabletop campaigns, this miniature perfectly represents a forward scout, a gritty trench-fighter, or a ruthless ambush specialist. Painters will love the deep, plunging folds of his layered cowl and the rich contrast between his crimson robes and deep blue armor padding, making him a highly dynamic and visually striking addition to any warband.
