Matsue Castle – A Masterpiece of History and Playability
Modeled after the renowned Matsue Castle, this multi-level structure is both a tribute to Japanese architecture and a versatile addition to your Nippon Saga campaign. With its intricate design and playability, it offers endless possibilities for storytelling and strategic gameplay.
Matsue Castle features a stone base that supports its towering structure, echoing the fortifications of the Edo period. The building boasts four fully playable levels, each connected by stairs, and includes sliding doors that can be opened or closed to control movement. The entrance level, complete with its own removable roof, sets the stage for dramatic encounters. Hidden within the lowest level lies a secret passage cleverly concealed within a well—perfect for stealthy escapes or surprising ambushes.
Inside, balustrades and spacious interiors provide ample room for dramatic skirmishes or quiet moments of intrigue. Whether defending against invaders or hosting a council of war, this castle becomes the centerpiece of any campaign.
Matsue Castle is not just a model—it's a gateway to immersive storytelling. Bring the grandeur and mystique of feudal Japan to your tabletop with this beautifully crafted piece.

This castle was designed by Iain Lovecraft and is unpainted.
The original Nippon Saga campaign was designed in 28 mm heroic scale, which in practice corresponds more closely to 32 mm true scale. Until now, we offered this original version under the 28 mm label — which was incorrect. To make things clearer and give you more flexibility, we now provide both options: the original 32 mm version (as designed by Iain Lovecraft) and a newly downscaled true 28 mm version for those who prefer full compatibility with traditional 28 mm tabletop ranges.
