His heavy, long-barreled matchlock is held at the ready, but his finger remains disciplined. He refuses to waste his shot on a glancing hit or the obscurity of the smoke.
He is waiting for the exact moment the enemy heavy cavalry commits to the charge, or for a high-value commander to expose himself through the haze. Wearing practical, deep green armor plating and a thick cloth collar to catch the sparks of the ignition pan, he represents the gritty, pragmatic reality of early modern warfare.
For the tabletop general, this miniature is an exceptional representation of an overwatch unit, a dedicated sniper, or a seasoned marksman holding a critical choke point on the battlefield. This Tanegashima Samurai was designed by Forged Path Miniatures and made by Mad Miniatures under license. He comes unpainted and with a separate base as shown in the grey renders. That means some assembly is needed. The base was designed by Monolith Arts.
