Onna-Bushi Sai Cavalry – Fangs of the Turning Wheel

Onna-Bushi trained with the sai were specialists in close-quarters combat, using speed, control, and precision rather than brute force. Mounted, they became exceptionally dangerous, able to slip through broken formations and strike where longer weapons were unwieldy. The sai’s design allowed for trapping, deflecting, and finishing blows delivered at close range.
This Onna-Bushi Sai Cavalry miniature depicts a mounted warrior mid-engagement, sai raised and ready as the horse advances. The dynamic pose emphasises agility and control, while the detailed armour, layered garments, and confident posture reflect the discipline and skill required to fight effectively from horseback with short weapons.

These Onna-Bushi Sai Cavalry were designed by Forged Path Miniatures and made by Mad Miniatures under license. They come unpainted and with a separate base as shown in the grey renders. Riders are not attached to the horse. That means some assembly is needed. The base was designed by Monolith Arts.
