Ninja Assassins - The Tengu's Descent
To a traditionally trained swordsman, the battlefield exists strictly on a horizontal plane. To a master of the shinobi arts, the true killing blow always comes from above. "The Tengu's Descent" captures an airborne operative in the terrifying, weightless apex of a plunging ambush. Launching himself off a rocky outcropping, this assassin turns gravity itself into his greatest weapon.
Villagers whisper that these shadow warriors are born of the Tengu—mythical, bird-like demons of the mountains—and looking at this miniature, it is easy to see why. The operative is armed with twin blades, anticipating the chaos of his landing. His lead hand holds a shorter blade forward to parry any frantic, upward spear thrusts, while his primary hand has a straight ninjato drawn back to deliver a devastating downward stab. This plunging trajectory is expertly calculated to bypass the thickest chest plates of a samurai's armor, aiming directly for the vulnerable gap between the collar and the helmet.
For the tabletop, this miniature is an absolute showstopper for representing a death-from-above strike, a rooftop ambush, or a daring escape across uneven terrain. The dynamic suspension of the sculpt, with the dark fabric of his robes billowing against the sudden rush of air, gives painters a breathtaking opportunity to highlight the motion and kinetic energy of a perfectly executed aerial assassination.

This Ninja Assassin was designed by Forged Path Miniatures and made by Mad Miniatures under license. He comes unpainted and with a separate base as shown in the grey renders. That means some assembly is needed. The base was designed by Monolith Arts.
