The Ruined Lockhouse remains a critical element of Helwick’s waterways, despite its dilapidated state. While the twin towers are battered and the stone base is riddled with cracks, the gate mechanism and its sturdy metal frame endure, standing as a testament to the engineering prowess of its creators.
